Menorca overview
The island is very easily explored by car, and withy over 120 beaches and coves you'll always find somewhere new. With the aid of a good map, you can find all the hideaway places and the secluded beaches the Menorcan people go to, to escape the crowds.
The history and archeology of Minorca are very evident with talayotic villages found all across the island dating back over 3000 years. At Cap de Cavalleria, just west of Fornells on the north coast are the archeological remains of the first Roman settlements.
More recent history can be observed in the buildings in and around Mahon Es Castell and Sant Lluis, plus the forts of La Mola and Fort Marlborough.
