Latchi and Polis overview
The tiny village of Latchi stretches along 3km of coastline with a sand/shingle beach. The pretty harbour offers a number of excellent fresh fish tavernas that have turned out to be famous Island-wide. Quiet and unspoilt, Latchi is a relaxing place to come to, where your stay will be a peaceful one.
A short 5km drive away is Polis, a small traditional agricultural town bursting with Cypriot culture. Known in ancient times as Marion, the scenic beauty of the area is spectacular, from the coastal cliffs of cape Pomos to the pine and cedar forests of the Paphos mountains. Defi nitely an area to be explored with a great many deserted beaches a short drive away and interesting villages in the surrounding region.
Droushia is derived from the Cypriot word for ‘freshness’ just like the air in this village. Set high on a plateau, the views from Droushia are stunning, ranging from the Akamas Peninsular to the Troodos mountains. Rural life goes on here for the villagers, with typical old stone houses amongst narrow winding streets that add to the character of this traditional Cypriot village.
