In winter with its abundance of snow and plenty of activities to keep you occupied, especially during the Christmas season. There are plenty flights from all over the world to northern Finland, because Finland is the homeland of Santa Claus.
During the rest of the winter there are excellent opportunities for cross-country and downhill skiing, as well as for snowshoeing, husky or reindeer rides, and snowmobile safaris available in the main ski resorts.
