Mellieha Bay overview
Mellieha is a charming old village perched on a ridge overlooking one of Malta’s best beaches. Dominated by an 18th century Neo-Baroque church (and built over a rock church), its steep main winding street down to the beach has a variety of shops and restaurants. The beach itself is a long strip of sand and is the largest on the island.
Across the island lies Golden Bay, which enjoys a secluded location and a large sandy beach framed by rocky cliffs . Further North the scenery becomes less inhabited and more tranquil and nightlife is more centred around the hotels and resorts.
Those seeking Old World charm, or seeking to relax by a pool and indulge in some sun worshipping. Alternatively it also would appeal to those who enjoy exploring the area by foot.
