Anaheim overview
In the 1950's, cartoonist Walt Disney hatched up a theme park where his already popular characters - Mickey Mouse, Donuld Duck and Goofy - could all come to life. Anaheim was chosen as the location. Situated just 35 miles southwest of Los Angeles, Walt Disney first realised his dream of creating a fantasy world where the magic would never end! In 1955 it became the home of the original Disneyland, known as the ‘Happiest Place on Earth’.
In 2001, Disney’s California Adventure™ Park opened right next door. Anaheim today boasts a range of family-friendly dining and retail opportunities, and other attractions including the whiteknuckle rollercoasters and thrill rides of Knott's Berry Farm.
