Fujairah overview
Fujairah holds a unique position. It is the only emirate that lies on the eastern part of the Arabian Peninsula, along the Gulf of Oman, separated by the Hajar mountain range from the six other emirates that run along the Arabian Gulf. 1450 kilometres square, Fujairah extends from Ousla village to Dibba, a total of 70km with varying terrain across the semi-tropical climate; mountains, hills, plains, oasis and deserts. Her main cities are Al Fujairah, Dibba, Mirbeh, Al Bidiah & Masafi.
Past trades were fi shing and agriculture, but nowadays it’s Fujairah’s port that commands the industrial centre-stage as the world’s third largest tanker refueling and bunkering station. Over 40 giant tankers pass through the port daily! The world’s largest livestock shipping companies also use the port as their main holding station for sheep and cattle for the entire Arabian Peninsula.
